Kuehne & Nagel (UK)

  • Kuehne & Nagel is a leading global provider of integrated supply chain solutions for a comprehensive range of industries. KN Drinks Logistics (KNDL), a division of Kuehne & Nagel and the largest national drinks distribution company provides specialised primary (bulk movements from production sites to warehouses & multiple retail customers) and secondary (delivery from warehouses and regional depots to pubs and licensed premises) distribution of beverages throughout the UK.
  • KN Drinks Logistics (KNDL) a division of Kuehne & Nagel was formed to provide specialised distribution of beverages throughout the UK. Central to the business model was an SAP Logistics Execution platform that would be used not only to run the KNDL distribution but to provide real time interaction with the KNDL customers' ERP system (a large number of which run SAP), giving them unprecedented levels of real time integration and visibility of stock and activities.
  • Achieving their business goals required Rocket's proven capability to design and deliver decentralised SAP Logistics Execution Systems and Extended Warehouse Management solutions. The pioneering levels of planned multi-customer ERP and process integration presented numerous technical challenges requiring specialist development skills as well as numerous Rocket Packs which were used to extend the SAP functionality and deliver the required business process support in a robust and cost effective way.
  • The initial phase of the project was to transfer the KNDL secondary distribution network onto the new decentralised SAP Logistics Execution platform. Following completion of the roll-out 15 secondary distribution centres the project will move onto migrating the more complex primary distribution network consisting of 7 regional distribution centres into the new KNDL business and technical landscape.

TNT (UK)

  • TNT (formerly TPG) is a transportation services company, engaged in providing mail and express delivery services and freight management services.
  • TNT provide logistics services to a very large base of customers running their businesses on SAP. TNT wanted to improve the integration of their logistics software into their customers SAP systems, thereby reducing manual data entry and increasing speed, accuracy and value to their customers.
  • Rocket Consulting assisted TNT through this design process and provided essential SAP knowledge and technical expertise, as well as an invaluable insight into many different applications of SAP warehouse and transportations solutions.
